THE University of the Philippines has re-affirmed itself as the “superior source of national beauties” for the 11th time!
A 22-year-old broadcast communication summa cum laude graduate and sophomore law student from Diliman campus named Anna Theresa Luy Licaros won the top plum in the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant staged at the Big Dome last month.
Standing at 5-feet-9 with a voluptuous 33”-25”-34” figure, this Batangueña will be our bet in the Miss Universe pageant to be staged at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico, on May 29.
“Tere,” her nickname, now joins the list of past “UP beauties in Miss Universe,” namely: Maria del Carmen “Chuchay” dos Remedios Tuason (1958), Vida Valentina Fernandez Doria (Miss Photogenic in 1971), Lizbeth Samson de Padua (1976), Criselda Geronima “Dang” Flores Cecilio (1979), Maria Isabel Pagunsan Lopez (Top 20 Best in Swimsuit in 1982), Joyce Ann Fellosas Burton (1985), Sara Jane Davis Paez (1989), Nina Ricci Caldo Alagao (2000), Zorayda Ruth Blanco Andam (Best in National Costume 1st runner-up in 2001) and Lia Andrea Aquino Ramos (Miss Photogenic in 2006)…
